Semilla is a mythological interpretation of the Mexican Revolution and finds its visual inspiration in the paintings of Orozco ("El Hombre de Fuego"), Siqueiros ("El Diablo en la Iglesia") and Rivera. As well, it draws an influence from French and German contemporary graphic novels.
The storyboard, based on a story written by José García Moreno is being currently boarded in Los Angeles, California by Brendan Clogher and Pavel Cantú.
The project has been financed by the Rains Research Grant at Loyola Marymount University.
